Primary functions include reviewing and voting on programs and policies impacting the entertainment industry, tourism, arts programs, and museums. This also includes professional and amateur sports such as the State Athletic Commission and the regulation of athlete agents.
Primary functions include reviewing and voting on the creation, elimination, and oversight of offices within the Department of Consumer Affairs (DCA). These entities include, Health care professional licensing, Occupational licensing, Vocational education; Department of General Services; and Product labeling.
Primary functions include reviewing and voting on policies regarding elections, campaign finance, transparency, and redistricting procedures.
Primary functions include reviewing and voting on programs and policies regarding child welfare services, foster care, adoption assistance, child care, nutrition programs (incl. CalFresh. This also includes, CalWORKs, SSI/SSP, developmental disability services, adult protective services, In-Home Supportive Services, immigration services, homelessness services, and community care licensing.
Primary functions include reviewing and voting on policies regarding wages, hours, employment discrimination, Cal-OSHA, employment development, and public job programs.

Caucuses
Caucuses are groups of elected representatives who pursue shared policy interests and objectives. Here these representatives can take action on specific policy issues.
The Black Caucus strives to eliminate disparities and inequities for the African American community. With the goal to improve the lives and opportunities for the Black Diaspora, the Black Caucus creates policies that aim to guarantee equal access to governmental services, economic empowerment, and educational opportunities.
The LGBTQ Caucus focuses on issues that impact the LGBTQ community and to further the goal of equality and justice for all Californians. The LGBTQ Caucus strives to advocate for diversity and inclusion of all people, including differently abled bodies. Our Caucus is working diligently to support LGBTQ leaders that represent our community at the local, state, and federal levels.
The Legislative Progressive Caucus aims to educate and highlight solutions to create a more equitable California for generations to come. The goal is to establish policies that advocate for progressive action, creating community change, and influencing impact nationwide.
The Women’s Caucus aims to tackle issues that affect Women across California. Issues include: Workplace & Economic Equity, Underrepresentation, Healthcare & Health Equity, Caregiving services, Mental health resources and programs, Childcare & Education Equity, Gender Discrimination, Gender Violence & Public Safety, Human Trafficking, and Incarcerated Women and Girls.
